IOGA of NY is a trade association, founded in 1980, to protect, foster, and advance the common interests of oil and gas producers, professionals, and related industries in the State of New York.
Comprised of members from numerous states throughout the country, we represent small, independent oil and gas operators and producers, as well as many larger companies.
Our association is dedicated to conducting oil and gas exploration in a safe, efficient and environmentally sound manner while educating the public and our elected leaders about the positive impact the oil and gas industry has had - and will continue to have - on New York's economy and quality of life.
IOGA of NY takes great pride in its commitment to members by organizing informative workshops, seminars, and technical meetings in an effort to provide educational opportunities and promote technology transfer within the industry.
    
Take Action! Contact Your Elected Officials and Tell Them to Reject a Moratorium on Safe Natural Gas Drilling in NY!
There are bills being considered by the New York State Senate and Assembly, one of which would impose a moratorium on natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale until the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency completes yet another study on hydraulic fracturing. New York simply cannot afford to wait to tap this homegrown resource. Please take a few moments and send a message to your elected officials.
The most significant issue facing IOGA of NY is the prospect of expanded natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale – one the largest natural gas fields in North America. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is about to finalize an environmental impact statement, which will set the stage for natural gas companies to apply for drilling permits.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Purposes of the Independent Oil & Gas Association are:
(a) To protect, promote, foster and advance the common interest of oil and gas producers and related industries, including, without limitation, contractors, service personnel and underground storage operators in the State of New York;
(b) To protect such oil and gas producers against unfair and unjust burdens and exactions;
(c) To collect and disseminate pertinent data regarding the oil and gas producing industry;
(d) To promote better operating practices and improved producing methods;
(e) To conserve oil and gas and prevent the waste thereof;
(f) Generally to do such things as may be necessary to accomplish the foregoing;
(g) To do any other act or thing incidental to, or in connection with, the foregoing purposes or in advancement thereof, but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of its members, directors or officers, except permitted under the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law. |
